NASA video recorded from space shows North & South Korea
A NASA video taken from the International Space Station on January 30, 2014 revealed a shocking contrast between
North and South Koreas. The video taken from space showed North Korea plunged in complete darkness at night
compared to neighbouring South Korea and China. The darkened land appeared as if it were a patch of water joining the
Yellow Sea to the Sea of Japan. Its capital city, Pyongyang, appeared like a small island, despite a population of 3.26 million
(as of 2008). The light emission from Pyongyang is equivalent to the smaller towns in South Korea.
The video is via earthobservatory.nasa.gov.
