Deepika Padukone has a lot to look forward to as she turns 27. She had a particularly glorious 2012 after the heady success of Cocktail. Her much-awaited Race 2 is all set for release this year, as are Kochadaiyaan opposite Rajinikanth, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani opposite Ranbir Kapoor, Ram Leela with Ranveer Singh and Chennai Express opposite SRK.

Deepika, who is the daughter of famous badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, where her father was training. Her family moved to Bangalore, when she was eleven months old. Deepika is of Mangalorean origin and her mother tongue is Konkani. She also has a sister, Anisha, who is five years younger
